WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Medium Range Ballistic Missile Targets Program contract specifies development and production over a four-year period, but has options through 2024 that could increase the total value of the contract to $400 million, the release noted.

"These advanced medium-range targets will help MDA further validate the United States’ ability to defend deployed forces and allies against missile attack," Orbital ATK General Manager Rich Straka stated in the release.

Work will take place at Orbtial ATK's engineering and manufacturing facility in Chandler, Arizona.
