Animal rights activists interrupted a rally of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in Las Vegas, accusing her of not following her platform, the Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) international grassroots network said in a statement.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier on Thursday, Kitty Jones wrote an open letter on behalf of the activists detailing why Clinton’s animal rights platform is not in line with her actions.

According to DxE, over 50 billion land and sea animals are killed for food in the United States on a daily basis, often in inhumane conditions.

"Clinton’s words on animals are contradictory. She says she supports animal rights while at the same time she and her running mate support an industry — animal agriculture — whose purpose is to kill them and deprive them of freedom," DxE organizer Kitty Jones said as quoted in the Thursday statement.

A group of DxE animal rights activists interrupted Clinton’s rally held in Las Vegas on Thursday, emerging from the crowd and climbing over the barricades around the stage. According to DxE, the activists were holding signs saying "Hurting Animals is not Progressive" and "Until Every Animal Is Free."
