Clinton Campaign Advisor Does Not Believe Syrian Peace Agreement Possible
PHILADELPHIA (Sputnik) — Democratic Party presidential nominee Hillary Clinton will start a war over Syria if she is elected president of the United States, Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein told reporters at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Philadelphia.

"She [Clinton] wants to start an air war over Syria," Stein said on Thursday.

Furthermore, Stein said that the United States would see wars expand under a Clinton administration.

During the Obama administration, in which Clinton served as US secretary of state from 2009 to 2013, the United States engaged in numerous military operations abroad, including in Iraq, Libya and Syria.

On Wednesday, Clinton campaign spokesperson James Rubin said that he does not believe the United States will ever broker a peace agreement in Syria.

Rubin explained that Washington does not have leverage in peace negotiations because the United States has played a modest military and political role in the ongoing conflict in Syria.
