Madeleine Albright Claims Trump Presidency Would be 'Gift' for Putin
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has denied having investments in Russia amid Democratic allegations that the billionaire's campaign is benefiting from Russian support.

"For the record, I have ZERO investments in Russia," Trump wrote on his official Twitter account on Tuesday.

On July 22, the whistleblowing website WikiLeaks published nearly 20,000 emails from the Democratic National Convention (DNC) implicating its chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, of deliberately sabotaging the presidential candidacy of US Senator Bernie Sanders.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's campaign said Russian hackers could be behind the leak to help US Republican nominee Donald Trump in the race for presidency. Trump mocked Clinton’s campaign for the accusation, while the Kremlin dismissed the allegations as absurd.

"In order to try and deflect the horror and stupidity of the Wikileakes disaster, the Dems said maybe it is Russia dealing with Trump," the Republican nominee said in another tweet.

In the latest turn of events involving Russia's alleged stakes in the upcoming US presidential election, former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, who is a Clinton surrogate, on Tuesday said that Trump's presidency would be "a gift" for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
