Trump Wins Republican Presidential Nomination With 1,725 Delegate Votes

Donald Trump won a total of 1,725 delegate votes winning the Republican nomination for President of the United States, Republican National Convention Chairman and US House Speaker Paul Ryan announced.

CLEVELAND (Sputnik) — Trump received a total of 1,725 delegate votes, other candidates received only 721 votes on the floor of the convention.

"Trump, having received the majority [of delegate votes] entitled to be cast, has been selected as our party’s nominee for the President of the United States," Ryan announced on Tuesday evening.
