"[S]ervice members are encouraged to stay vigilant and remain aware of their surroundings in the vicinity of protest areas and depart the immediate area if violence erupts," the advisory stated.
Last week, protesters in cities across the United States demonstrated against the fatal shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile by police. Both victims were African-American.
Protests are planned in San Diego, California and Pullman, Washington on July 15 as well as in Rockford, Illinois on July 16, according to the advisory. In Canada, a protest is scheduled in London, Ontario for July 16.
The Navy warned that peaceful demonstrations could turn violent, or "political and social awareness groups" may use the protests to promote conflict.
On July 7, former US Army reservist Micah Johnson killed five police officers in Dallas, Texas after he opened fire on police following a protest by the Black Lives Matter movement.
There is no information indicating a threat to US-based military installations or personnel, the Navy stated.
