WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Just this week two black men have become victims of fatal shootings, The Washington Post reported Thursday.
"Blacks continued to be shot at 2.5 times the rate of whites. About half of those killed were white and about half were minorities. Fewer than 10 percent of all those killed were unarmed. One-quarter were mentally ill," a two-year study conducted by the newspaper revealed.
The publication comes after the footage of Alton Sterling appearing to be pinned to the ground and shot in the chest by police in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Tuesday went viral triggering nationwide outrage.
