MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The explosion was heard at around 11:40 p.m. local time (4:40 GMT) and authorities are currently working to secure the scene, where a fire has broken out, according to WKRG-TV. Police have confirmed the explosion but it remains unclear whether anyone was injured in the blast.
The police department of the US city of Pascagoula, Mississippi said in a statement on Tuesday that there were neither injuries nor evacuations in the blast that hit a gas plant in the city.

"We are working with state and local officials regarding this [explosion]. There will be no evacuations at this time and there are no injuries. We will update you as more details become available," the police statement said.
The statement added that the fire was contained to the building of the plant.
