MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Defense News media outlet, the shortage is not expected to affect the already deployed naval forces, however, if problems in financing persist, it will "likely delay some deployments."
The Navy also reportedly said that the Pentagon’s recent decision to extend the current deployment of the Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier strike group in the Middle East by a month to combat terrorists in the region would require an additional $91 million in spending.
According to the outlet, US officials are preparing to take steps to further limit Navy’s 2016 spending.
