The letter called on the American people to launch "a great revolution for freedom" to free Obama from the control of corporate lobbyists and enable the president to make "a rational decision to save humanity from the harmful gases that threaten its destiny."
Another of the Saudi extremist’s letters urged an aide to launch a media campaign for the 10th anniversary of the attacks of September 11, and to focus on cutting greenhouse gas emissions. He argued that fighting climate change would do more for the world than waging war against Islam.
"…The world should put its efforts into attempting to reduce the release of gases," one letter, believed to be written by bin Laden, asserted. "This is a struggle between two of the largest cultures on Earth, and it is in the shadow of catastrophic climate conditions."
Documents released in 2015 further revealed bin Laden’s concern about the environment and climate. In previously released writings, he warned that climate change kills more people than wars.
“Indeed, what our Ummah is experiencing, of effects associated with the enormous climate changes and the great suffering the natural disasters are leaving behind that now become prevalent throughout the Muslim countries, renders the traditional relief efforts insufficient,” bin Laden wrote.
