An anti-war activist with the Code Pink movement interrupted former Vice President Dick Cheney in a Tuesday speech opposing the Iran nuclear agreement.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Code Pink activist was dragged out of a speech hosted by the American Enterprise Institute in Wasington, DC, after denouncing the former Vice President as a "war criminal."

"Why should we be listening to him?" the protester asked the crowd.

Responding to the protest, Cheney said, "Thank you very much," and was applauded by the crowd.

Ahead of Cheney’s speech, Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin commented that it is "mind boggling" for Washington policy makers to take advice from Cheney when he "lied to American public about Iraq and justified torture."

Code Pink was founded in 2002 and advocates prosecuting Cheney and former President George W. Bush as war criminals for their role in carrying out the 2003 Iraq war.
