As conservative politicians and social media commentators rush to call Black Lives Matter activists terrorists, blaming them for reported cop shootings, it was revealed that the Massachusetts cop who reported he was fired at this week made the whole story up.

Schools in the town of Millis were shut down amid a massive manhunt on Wednesday for a man in a pickup truck who shot at part-time police officer Bryan Johnson, causing the cop to get into a fiery car accident.

Johnson had claimed he was stopping to ask someone on the side of the road if they needed assistance, and out of nowhere the “suspect” fired two gun shots through his windshield, leading to the crash.

On Thursday, however, it was announced that the officer invented the story and had shot into his own vehicle. It remains unclear whether he torched the car as well; the department has stated the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

There were also two threats called in to a local school, including a bomb threat, but the police have not revealed whether they were connected to the incident.

Following every shooting that targets US police officers of late there erupts a wave of outrage and hysteria directed towards accountability activists, claiming Black Lives Matter demonstrations have fueled a “war on cops” in the country, despite the fact that fatal shootings of police officers is in fact down 17% from this time last year, according to the Officer Down Memorial page.

In addition, one in every 12 of those shootings were attributed to another police officer.

In early 2015, Mississippi Police Officer John Ballard Gorman was fatally shot by a fellow cop during a training exercise.  The officer who killed him had forgot to switch to a training weapon and fired a real round into the officer.

Johnson was terminated from the department on Thursday and will face criminal charges, but he is not yet in custody. His motive for the incident remains unknown.
