MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched an investigation into the crash of a medical helicopter in Frisco, Colorado that led to the death of the pilot.

The Flight for Life helicopter was leaving St. Anthony Summit Medical Center in Frisco on Friday when it crashed hitting an employee parking lot. There were no patients on board the helicopter.
The US Flight for Life care service provides emergency medical helicopter transport, as well as land vehicles and planes used to transport critically ill patients to specialized health centres.
Flight for Life was the first civilian hospital-based medical program in the United States. It started off in 1972 with a single helicopter based at St. Anthony Central Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
