Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina Announces US Presidential Run

Former technology executive Carly Fiorina said Monday she would seek Republican nomination for president, as the first party’s first female contender.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Fiorina served as CEO of Hewlett-Packard from 1999 to 2005 after being an executive at the US telecommunications company AT&T and its equipment and technology branch company Lucent.

"Yes, I am running for president," Fiorina said on ABC's Good Morning America, adding that she believes she would be “the best person for the job.”

The former executive will challenge Republican candidates Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Ben Carson for the presidential nomination.
