Obama claims that the "Middle Class Economics” program will cut taxes for more than 40 million middle income families and will help them find success in the US economy.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The "Middle Class Economics” program will cut taxes for more than 40 million middle income families and will help them find success in the US economy, US President Barack Obama stated about his new economic plan at a town hall event in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“When you put my policies together in the budget, I want to cut taxes for more than five million families paying for health care, eight million paying for education tuition, and 30 million saving for retirement,” Obama said on Wednesday. “In total, my plan would cut taxes for 40 million middle income working class families.”

Obama explained that the US Republican plan will only cut taxes for one tenth of the top one percent of the US population, and that the US Tax Code should be helping middle class families instead.

“The Tax Code should benefit working families trying to get a head start in this new economy,” Obama said.

Obama noted that his middle class economics plan will also take into account high-quality healthcare costs being much higher than tuition costs for college students.

“My plan would make it more affordable for middle class families with children,” Obama said. “I want to bring down the cost of community college for responsible students all the way down to $0.”

Obama said that he and his economic team have been working with US cities and states to raise workers’ wages, and the proof is in the new Middle Class Economics plan.
