MOSCOW, December 3 (Sputnik) – US federal authorities have arrested a man for allegedly threatening to kill former Ferguson Missouri Police officer Darren Wilson, who killed unarmed black teenager Michael Brown in August, according to the criminal complaint.
Jalleel Tariq Abdul-Jabbaar, a 48-year-old from Kirkland, Washington, made repeated threats on Facebook to kill the officer identified only as D.W., his family, and other law enforcement officers soon after the controversial shooting, said the complaint, published on the UN Department of Justice website.
The complaint includes FBI Special Agent Brett Grover saying, "the threats relate to the widely publicized events of Aug. 9 during which Officer D.W. fatally shot Michael Brown."
Abdul-Jabbaar is facing three counts of making interstate threats. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.
Last week, the grand jury decided not to bring charges against Wilson. The controversial decision led to a wave of nationwide protests.
