The father of the deceased teenager, Michael Brown Sr., said that he hoped for "another trial, a federal trial" in an interview with CNN on Wednesday. "I have faith in a different decision," he added.
Brown's father called Darren Wilson, the white police officer who shot his son, "a murderer", emphasizing that, "he [Wilson] understood his actions. He [Wilson] understood exactly what he was doing."
Michael Brown Sr. questioned whether Wilson would have acted in the same way if his son had been white. "I think the interaction would have been a whole lot differently," Michael Brown Sr. said during the interview.
Expressing her pain upon hearing the decision by the grand jury not to indict Wilson, the victim's mother, Lesley McSpadden told CNN, "We heard this [decision of the grand jury] and it was just like, like I had been shot. Like you shoot me now – just no respect, no sympathy, nothing."
