MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A total of 166 Member Federations, who were present at the biennial Congress, supported the IAAF ruling Council's position, and 21 voted against.

On Monday, the IAAF working group recommended that the Congress extend the RusAF suspension until all conditions for the restoration of RusAF membership are met.

Russian Sports Minister Pavel Kolobkov said Thursday his ministry was disappointed with the IAAF Congress decision to keep the RusAF ban in place.

"Of course, we hoped for the best and were disappointed by this decision. I thank the representatives of those countries that voted today in favor of RusAF, which shows that confidence in Russia is growing," the Russian Sports Ministry quoted Kolobkov as saying.
