Russian Paralympic Committee Says IPC Suspension Politicized
The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has decided to suspend Russian Paralympic athletes from the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, President Philip Craven said Sunday.

"The IPC governing board has resolved to suspend the Russian Paralympic Committee with immediate effect. This means that the Russian Paralympic Committee loses all rights and privileges of IPC membership. This includes not being able to enter para athletes into competitions sanctioned by the IPC and being unable to participate in IPC activities. The Russian Paralympic Committee will not be able to enter its athletes into the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games," Craven told a press conference.

The IPC president added that there was proof that doping probes during Paralympic Games in Sochi had been substituted, and the IPC planned to re-check all the tests in upcoming months.

According to him, the Russian Paralympic Committee was informed about the decision earlier in the day.
