The Russian Ministry of Emergencies undertook works in large numbers for preparations of sites, which will be involved in the FIFA World Championship in 2018, completely reequipped all crisis management centers, conducted drills and trainings, according to Head of the Ministry Vladimir Puchkov.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russian Ministry of Emergencies is on schedule in preparations for maintaining security during the 2018 FIFA World Championship, Head of the Ministry Vladimir Puchkov said on Thursday.

"We have completely reequipped all our crisis management centers, conducted drills, trainings — these works are conducted on a scheduled basis every day. Works are underway, we are keeping to our schedule hour per hour," he said.

The Ministry of Emergencies is also using the experience, acquired after the Winter Olympics in Sochi and the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan, Puchkov stressed.

"The Russian Ministry of Emergencies has already undertook works in large numbers for preparations of sites, which will be involved in the FIFA World Championship in 2018. Unique special technical conditions for every site have been worked out in complex and technological processes and from the very beginning our experts took part in design and survey works. This is bringing results," he continued.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held from June 14 to July 15 in 11 Russian cities, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi and Volgograd. According to chief of the Russia 2018 Organizing Committee Alexei Sorokin, Russia will spend over $10 billion on the 2018 World Cup.
