Russian synchronized swimming team, divers and women's water polo team are eligible to participate in 2016 Rio Olympics as they have not been implicated in the ongoing doping scandal, the International Swimming Federation said Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The International Olympic Committee (IOC) made a decision on Sunday not to ban the entire Russian Olympic team from the participation in the upcoming games in Rio, choosing to leave it to the individual sports federations to decide on athletes' participation. The IOC also banned all Russian athletes with doping record from the games.

"There is no indication in the IP [WADA Independent Person] report that athletes of Russian Synchronized Swimming Federation, Russian Diving Federation and Russian Water Polo would be implicated," FINA said in a statement.

The Russian men's national water polo team has failed to qualify for Rio Olympics.
