Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko expressed hope on Friday that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will rule in favor of Russia in an appeal to contest a doping ban barring Russian track-and-field athletes from competing at 2016 Rio Olympics.

Russian Sports Minister Ready to Resign Over Olympics Chaos
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Lausanne-based court is expected to review the appeal, filed by the Russian Olympic Committee and 68 athletes against the IAAF, on July 19.

"We are expecting 67 [track-and-field] athletes, who have lodged individual appeals and met all criteria. The have not broken any regulations. We are hoping that the CAS will rule in favor of the Russian appeal and they will be able to compete at the Olympics,"
