Russia supports the International Olympic Committee and will continue to be a part of the Olympic movement, Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said Tuesday.

CHEBOKSARY (Sputnik) – Earlier Tuesday, International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach said that those athletes cleared by the IAAF would be able to compete in the 2016 Olympic Games under the Russian flag.

"We fully support Bach, we fully support the IOC. Russia was and will continue being a part of the international Olympic movement," Mutko told R-Sport.

He stressed that Russia only favored "clean sport." According to the minister, Russia is ready to establish a transparent and reliable anti-doping system together with the IOC.

On Friday, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) upheld the suspension of the All-Russia Athletics Federation’s (ARAF’s) membership, virtually banning Russian athletes from the 2016 Rio Olympics, over failed doping tests.
