The Russian national ice hockey team on Monday defeated the United States 2-1 in semifinals game at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship, and reached finals of the tournament in Helsinki, Finland.

HELSINKI (Sputnik) — Egor Korshkov scored the final goal, and was declared player of the game within the Russian team. Christian Dvorak was named the best US player.

Russia will face the the hosts of the tournament on Tuesday. On the same day, the US team will face the Swiss peers to compete for the third place.
