MOSCOW, November 25 (R-Sport) - Alexander Kokorin scored twice as Dynamo Moscow demolished capital city rivals Spartak 5-1 in Sunday’s Moscow derby.
Dynamo gained full revenge for Spartak’s 4-0 win in the reverse fixture in August and piled yet more pressure on Spartak’s embattled coach Unai Emery following his team’s Champions League elimination Tuesday.
Dynamo move up to ninth with their eighth win in 12 games under Dan Petrescu, including a 3-0 technical victory from last week’s abandoned game against Zenit St. Petersburg.
“The score speaks for itself that it’s the best game,” Petrescu said when asked how the result compared to his other wins at Dynamo, in televised comments.
“Maybe it’s even the best in the coach’s career.”
Spartak are sixth, 10 points off leaders CSKA Moscow, and were booed off by their home crowd at half-time and the final whistle.
Kokorin opened the scoring with a low long-range effort on 15 minutes that took a hefty deflection and deceived Spartak goalkeeper Andriy Dikan.
Three minutes later, Christian Noboa made it 2-0 when he slammed in a cross from Hungarian winger Balazs Dzsudzsak, whose pace tore holes in a poor Spartak defense.
Kokorin struck again in first-half stoppage time, dribbling through the Spartak defense and fooling center-back Nicolas Pareja before slotting the ball past Dikan.
The introduction of forward Artem Dzyuba at half-time heralded a brief revival for Spartak before Dynamo midfielder Igor Semshov came off the bench to deliver two crushing blows in the dying minutes.
Semshov hammered a Jakob Jantscher cross in off the underside of the bar on 80 minutes and teamed up with the Austrian again for his second goal in the dying minutes.
Dzyuba scored a stoppage-time consolation for the hosts.
