Ice dancers Ekaterina Bobrova and Dmitry Soloviev took silver behind highly favored three-time champions Maryl Davis and Charlie White to cap a successful Skate America for the Russian team.

Sunday's silver at the curtain-raiser for the Grand Prix tour in Kent, Washington, came on the back of a third-straight series gold for Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov in the pairs.

Sixteen-year-old prodigy Adelina Sotnikova took the ladies' bronze on Sunday behind Americans Ashley Wagner, who won gold, and silver winner Christina Gao.

Russia’s Konstanin Menshov scored a career-best 212.53 to finish fourth in the men's event, which was swept by Japanese skaters as Takahiko Kozuka claimed gold, Yuzuru Hanyu the silver and Tatsuki Machida the bronze.

In ice dance, Bobrova and Soloviev were third after the short program, but an impassioned performance to “Man With a Harmonica” by Ennio Morricone and a new version of Puccini’s “Tosca” in Sunday's free program lifted them to second.

Bobrova and Soloviev, whose next competition in the series will be in Shanghai next week for the Cup of China, had a tough act to follow after Volosozhar and Trankov's pairs victory the previous day.

Volosozhar and Trankov had gone into Saturday's free program with a 10-point cushion over China’s Pang Qing and Tong Jian, and the reigning European champions consolidated the position with a grand total of 195.07 despite Volosozhar’s fall from a throw triple Salchow.

The team won both assigned Grand Prix’s of 2011 at Skate Canada and Trophee Eric Bompard in France.

Only the six highest-ranked skaters or pairs of the Grand Prix series may compete in the Grand Prix Final, which takes place in Sochi this December.

The Cup of Russia, the fourth leg of the Grand Prix tour, is November 9-11 in Moscow.
