Igor Denisov and Alexander Kerzhakov are to return to Zenit St. Petersburg first team this weekend after a spat over wages saw them dropped to the reserves, a club source told R-Sport on Tuesday.
Both players were sent to train with the reserves at the weekend after Denisov had allegedly issued a pay rise ultimatum.
Denisov had argued with Zenit management over the large salaries given to new signings Hulk and Axel Witsel, while the club said Kerzhakov was punished for unspecified “inappropriate behavior.”
"The club and Denisov will sit down for talks and will settle everything quickly, and the conflict will be resolved by the end of this week," said the source, who insisted upon anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation.
The source said both should return for Saturday's Russian Premier League match against Lokomotiv Moscow.
Between them, Kerzhakov, 29, and Denisov, 28, have made almost 500 appearances for Zenit since both broke into the first team in 2001.
Kerzhakov has 66 Russia caps, while Denisov has 32 and was made captain by new national team coach Fabio Capello last month.
