Spartak Moscow's Aiden McGeady revealed to R-Sport on Tuesday that he has split loyalties between his Russian employers and Celtic, the club where he made his name.

The Glasgow-born winger spoke after Spartak's 3-2 defeat to Barcelona in their Champions League opener in which he got the assist for the second Spartak goal.

Spartak look to get their campaign back on the rails on October 2 - against McGeady's old side in Moscow.

"I'll probably get a bit more excited in the days before the game," McGeady told R-Sport. "I want to do well, of course, because I play for Spartak now. But Celtic are always my team, the team I love," he said.

McGeady got his big break in 2004 at Parkhead, scoring 31 times in 185 league games for Celtic until 2010, when he moved to Russia.
