Brutal Joke? Mexican Youths Strap Explosives to Dog (VIDEO)

A group of young people strapped explosives to a dog in Mexico just for fun and uploaded a video of the tortured dog running around in panic.

In a video clip, young men from the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí demonstrated their idea of fun. They strapped explosives to a dog and watched as it was burned alive.

The video caused outrage among animal rights organizations.

According to the activists, all this is due to the fact that the Mexican law for the protection of animal rights is not strict enough.

One of the main animal rights organizations in Mexico, Anima Naturalis, insists on the introduction of a federal law in connection with such cases.

Activists also state that the maximum sentence in San Luis Potosí that these kids can receive, and that also if they are of age, is detention for a period of 6 months or a year, but they may be released for a bail of $30 — $140.

Due to the increased level of crime in the region, children and adolescents believe violence is a norm, as they are constantly exposed to such an atmosphere.

In turn, the prosecutor's office has opened a criminal case and launched an investigation in connection with the incident.

Some celebrities have already commented on this brutal crime on social networking sites, demanding justice.

Mexican actor Eugenio Derbez tweeted, "Dear Governor @JMCarrerasGob @GobEdoSLP We demand justice! We would like to have everything under the law!!"
