MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The breakthrough in neurosurgical post-op monitoring was made within the project supported by the Russian Scientific Foundation "Brain and Neuroscience," which gathered experts in various fields to examine the flow of blood in the brain, according to Science in Siberia.

With the new monitoring system, "it is possible to achieve a reduction in the number of postoperative complications," the employee of the Institute of Hydrodynamics, Alexandra Chupahina, was quoted in the publication as saying.

The experts working on the project have mastered the monitoring of the neurosurgical operations by improving and applying the US instrument designed to measure the pressure and velocity in the coronary vessels to study the required parameters in the cerebral vessels.
