MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Hundreds of engineers quietly working on automotive technologies in an anonymous office building, the newspaper reported on Friday, adding that the self-driving car is almost ready for the road.
The newspaper added that Apple representatives search for appropriate locations in California to test the vehicle in secrecy.
Californian legislation allows self-driving vehicles to ride the roads of the state. Such high-tech companies as Google, Tesla Motors and Mercedes Benz that develop autonomous cars have already received permissions to test their prototype cars.
Earlier in 2015, both Tesla Motors and Google announced that they would introduce self-driving car prototype this summer.
