A 3D printer in the palm of your hand, ready to make real all the doodles of your wildest imagination? Meet the 3Doodler 2.0.

Two years ago, WobbleWorks LLC., a small technology company founded in 2010, strived to raise $30,000 to fund their first 3Doodler 3D printing pen. Their Kickstarter campaign brought in over $2.3 million, and the company has since sold over 130,000 units of their initial model.

WobbleWorks revealed the sleeker and slimmer 3Doodler 2.0 at 2015 The International Consumer Electronics Show. It weighs less than two ounces (about half the weight of the original,) and at a quarter of the size of the original, it’s comparable to a regular marker. It also has anodized aluminum casing, similar to Apple products like the iPad or iPhone.

A new nozzle system for the pen makes for smoother performance and crisper doodles, a common complaint of the last design.

There is also a speed control function that allows 3Doodler users to adjust how fast or slow the pen will release filament. Options like a battery pack (for doodling on the go!) and a foot pedal are sold separately.

While the Kickstarter campaign that led to the development of the pen is over, tech-watchers say the 3Doodler 2.0 will likely be in stores later this year. Many backers were able to obtain them at $85 apiece (some at $50 with a pre-order.) The price has since increased to $99.
