Plane Safely Lands in Russia After Passenger Says She Has Explosive Device - S7 Airlines

Russia's S7 Airlines said on Thursday that its plane had landed safely after one of the female passengers said that she had an explosive device with her.
"During Flight S7 2008 Simferopol-Moscow, one of the female passengers stood in the aisle and announced that she had an explosive device. According to the instructions, the aircraft commander reported the incident to Domodedovo Airport," S7 Airlines said.

After the plane landed safely, it was driven to a separate parking lot and met by security and airport emergency service officers.

The perpetrator has been arrested, while no explosive device has been found. Security Service officers are still working with the passenger, who claimed she had an explosive device with her.

“Information about the presence of an explosive device on a passenger of Flight S7 2008 Simferopol-Moscow was not confirmed. All passengers left the plane and are re-passing security control at the airport terminal. Security service officers are working with the passenger who claimed to have an explosive device, an additional inspection of the aircraft is underway,” S7 said.

According to the administration of the airport, the functioning of the facility hasn't been hampered by the incident.
