Russia's 5th-Gen T-50 Fighter Provides Pilots With 'Unlimited' Opportunities

Russia's Sukhoi T-50 (PAK FA) fifth-generation fighter aircraft provides its pilots with virtually unlimited opportunities for aerobatics and use of this aircraft in air-to-air combat, Russian Aerospace Forces Commander Col. Gen. Viktor Bondarev said Saturday.

ZHUKOVSKY (Sputnik) – Speaking at the 13th International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2017, Bondarev told reporters that pilota are provided with freedom in flight training and operation of this aircraft.

"So far I would say that there is no physiological limit for the PAK FA pilot, both in flight training and operation of this aircraft," Bondarev told reporters at the 13th International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2017.

Bondarev explained that T-50 boasted increased engine power, bomb capacity, flight range and dozens of other parameters improved.

"Designers are working to ensure that the machine does the maximum for the pilot," the commander said.

The T-50 is designed by the Russian Sukhoi aircraft manufacturer as part of the PAK FA, a fifth-generation fighter program of the Russian Aerospace Forces. It is a single-seat, twin-engine multirole stealth fighter jet designed for air superiority and attack roles and equipped with advanced avionics system and airborne active phased array radar. The first flight of the aircraft took place in 2010. United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) President Yury Slyusar said on Wednesday that first batch of 12 Sukhoi T-50 aircraft might be delivered to Russian Defense Ministry as early as in 2019.
