Unique snow boots for soldiers serving in the Far North, jointly developed by Novosibirsk footwear makers and scientists, have already been certified and will soon be on their way to their future owners.

According to the nano boots’ makers, their thermos effect created inside will keep their wearers warm even when it is minus 70 degrees Celsius outside.

“The boots are made from EVA, which is a super warm material. We also use thermoelastoplast to avoid punctures and skidding and nano tubes to enhance their warmth-retaining qualities,” Sergei Yung, director of a local shoe factory making the nano boots, told Life TV.

A number of state organizations, including military and emergency units, have already placed orders for the innovative footwear. 50,000 pairs of nano-boots will soon be available in army surplus stores and there will be more to come.

A day will come in the near future when we won’t have to do laundry anymore because clothes would magically clean themselves when exposed to light. Well, perhaps not exactly magically, but due to special nanostructures, Mahsa Mohammad Taheri, a researcher involved in this breakthrough discovery, told Radio Sputnik. - Sputnik International

Sergei Yung mentioned a notable spike in public demand for quality military footwear following the ban on textile imports, which allowed the factory to move in and fill the gap.

“After Canada’s Buffin Company closed up shop here we took over. Our nano-boots are one of a kind as they are extremely frost-resistant and developed expressly for use in the Arctic,” he said.
