A police report was filed by the managing director of the showroom. According to him, four disguised men approached the BMW's intended for test drive. They opened the doors with their own keys, got behind the wheel and drove off. Police tried to intercept them, but failed to catch the criminals.

Police have started a criminal investigation and CCTV footage has been taken as evidence. The damage is estimated at 19 million rubles.

According to daily online press Fontanka, the criminals could have acquired the keys from the store safe, where a second set of keys to new cars are kept.
