The keel-laying of Russia’s second serial project 22220 nuclear-powered icebreaker Ural will take place in St. Petersburg next week, the Baltiysky Zavod shipyard said Wednesday.

ST. PETERSBURG (Sputnik) – The shipyard is contracted by the Atomflot Federal State Unitary Enterprise to build three project 22220 nuclear icebreakers. The lead ship, the Arktika, was launched on June 16. The first icebreaker, the Sibir, was laid down on May 6, 2015.

"The ceremonial keel-laying of the second serial project 22220 nuclear icebreaker ‘Ural’ will take place at the Baltiysky Zavod on July 25, 2016," the shipyard announced.
