Russia's Security Council would assess the country's new information security doctrine edition by the end of the year.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia's Security Council said Monday it would hold a meeting to assess the new edition of the country's information security doctrine by the end of the year.

"It is expected that the new edition of the information security doctrine will be assessed at a meeting of the Russian Security Council by the end of 2016," the Council said in a statement.

The draft doctrine outlining information security was devised in accordance with the federal law on strategic planning in Russia, the Security Council said.

The draft will be open to public discussion from Saturday, June 25 to July 5.
