YAKUTSK (Russia) (Sputnik) – Russia's anti-doping center should become more autonomous and get more freedom, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Wednesday.
"I think it is important to pay attention to the activities of our anti-doping center… This institution is really under [the jurisdiction] of Sports Ministry… it is part of our federal bodies of executive power. In order to provide it with bigger freedom, in order to avoid any doubts and suspicions, I suppose that the issue of bringing such an institution out of control of the certain bodies of executive power, to turn it into an autonomous institution or some other structure could be considered," Medvedev said.
He added that it could create grounds for an end of allegations about government control over sport.
