ST. PETERSBURG (Sputnik) – Russia will be able to export about 48 million metric tons of grain annually considering the current level of production and growing global demand, Agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachev said Friday.
"Considering out production capacity and prospects of global demand, Russia could export some 48 million tons of grain by 2030," Tkachev told reporters on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
According to Tkachev, Russia harvested 104.8 million metric tons of grain in 2015 and is planning to export up to 35 million tones in 2016.
