MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A head-on collision, which involved two Meridian passenger trains carrying over 100 people, occurred in Bavaria near the town of Bad Aibling, about 25 miles southeast of Munich earlier in the day.
The accident has claimed the lives of at least eight people and injured some 90, according to preliminary police estimates.

Local media reports suggest the number of injured to be at least 150.
"Moscow expresses its condolences over a train crash, which resulted in a large number of injured and killed," Peskov told reporters.
