Despite a high percentage of swine flu cases in Russia, the epidemic is beginning to decline, according to the country's health minister.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Swine flu cases in Russia have reached 95 percent of all influenza cases, Russian Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova said Saturday.

“Up to 95 percent,” Skvortsova told reporters, when asked what percentage of strains currently constitutes the swine flu.

According to the minister, the epidemic has begun to decline.

“Next week, we will see an obvious decline, we have already passed the peak period,” Skvortsova added.
