MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russian Tretyakov Gallery will organize exhibitions in Switzerland, France, the United Kingdom, China and Italy in 2016-2017, the museum’s director said Friday.
"This year is dedicated to Kandinsky, and the Tretyakov Gallery is taking part in a unique exposition of Kandinsky’s works in the Beyeler Foundation [Switzerland], where we presented an exhibition on Russian avant-garde with huge success," Zelfira Tregulova told reporters.
The gallery is also organizing an exhibition of Yevsey Moiseenko in China, where the artist is held in high regard.
"One of the most prominent projects we are taking part in is an exhibition in Paris, it will open in autumn in the Foundation Louis Vuitton. Collections of Shchukin and Morozov will be presented there," the director said.
London’s National Portrait Gallery and the Tretyakov Gallery, which is located in Moscow, will hold exhibitions as part of a UK-Russia year of language and literature. The Russian museum will also organize a Russian avant-garde exhibition in Rome in autumn 2017.
