Muscovite Who Went on Junk Food Feeding Frenzy Sues Coupon Websites

A 26-year-old Muscovite is demanding a compensation of some $230,000 (18 million rubles) for a failure to control her junk food feeding frenzy, accusing money-saving websites of failing to warn her that continually filling up with her favorite high fat treats would lead to her body blowing up like a balloon.

The woman accuses Groupon, iConn and Malina money-saving websites of failing to warn her of the risk of obesity.

The claimant says that for over five years she has been using various discount coupons purchased from the site to eat in different city cafes and restaurants.

As a result of her obesity she is calling for compensation of $230,000 (18 million rubles).

Besides, her boyfriend has left her due to her drastically changed appearance.

“Groupon, iConn and Malina discount websites did not disclose all the necessary information when issuing discount coupons for cafes and restaurants,” she claimed in her law suit.

“They have not specified the calorific content of the food provided and have not warned of the possible loss of control by a client which could result in gaining weight and a decline in health.”

“The companies should have notified their clients that with large discounts of 10-50% the client might lose control and  buy more food than he or she actually needs.”

The woman said that she often visited restaurants trying to save more and as a result gained excessive weight, which led to deep moral suffering due to the loss of her looks.

Now, instead of going on a diet and signing up for a gym as most people would do get rid of their weight, she is demanding the money to pay for the services of dietitian and cosmetic liposuction.
