The Russian Federal Drug Control Service seized over 36 metric tons of drugs in 2015.

NOVO-OGARYOVO (Moscow Region) (Sputnik) — The Russian Federal Drug Control Service (FDCS) seized over 36 metric tons of drugs in 2015, head of the organization Victor Ivanov said Wednesday.

"In the course of this work, together with our colleagues, we dismantled 4,300 drug-related gangs and organized criminal groups. As a result, we were able to seize over 36 metric tons of drugs," Ivanov told Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Among the seized narcotics were cocaine, marijuana, hashish and heroin, he noted.
