MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian industrial production for 2015 has dropped 3.3 percent, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said Tuesday.

“If we’re talking about final figures, then we’ll do that after we get all the figures from statistics by mid-January <…> But we can say preliminarily that the drop in production as a whole is at 3.3 percent,” Manturov said during an interview with Russia’s Rossiya-24 television.

Russia's oil-dependent economy has seen a slowdown over the past year amid a global drop in oil prices. In addition, US and EU sanctions against Russia over its alleged involvement in the Ukraine crisis have negatively impacted the economy.

In January, the Russian government presented an anti-crisis plan set to stabilize the country's economy, which stipulates deep spending cuts and aims to balance Russia's budget by 2017.
