Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the country's economy has been showing signs of stability since the second quarter of 2015.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia's economy has passed the peak of the crisis, President Vladimir Putin said Thursday.

"Statistics show that the Russian economy all in all has passed the crisis. The peak of the crisis, in any case," Putin told reporters.

He added that the country's economy has been showing signs of stability since the second quarter of 2015.

Russian leader also stated that Russia's sovereign funds are on a good level, with an overall volume of 11.8 percent of GDP.

"Sovereign funds are at a quite good level today, 11.8 percent of GDP," Putin said.
