Russia has done everything possible to create good conditions for Ukrainian refugees who fled their homeland amid hostilities, UN Refugees Agency (UNHCR) representative in Russia Baisa Vak-Voya told journalists Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Russia's Federal Migration Service (FMS) citizenship department head, Valentina Kazakova, said that to date of the 356,000 Ukrainians who applied for asylum in Russia, about 325,000 have already been granted refugee status.

"During multiple visits to a refugee center for Ukrainians we did not notice any problems with accommodation, food, medical services and education. Everything is organized as it should be, on the same level as for Russian citizens."

Russia has seen a dramatic influx of refugees from conflict-hit eastern Ukraine since June 2014. In late September, FMS head Konstantin Romodanovsky said that over 180,000 Ukrainians had applied for refugee status and been granted temporary asylum in Russia.
