Russian ex-Defense Ministry official Evgeniya Vasilyeva was immediately taken into custody in the courtroom.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Presnensky Court in Moscow has sentenced Russian ex-Defense Ministry official Evgeniya Vasilyeva to five years in prison for embezzlement, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported from the courtroom Friday.

Vasilyeva was immediately taken into custody in the courtroom.

She was originally accused of embezzling $58 million in state military property.
