Ukraine's Party of Regions Confirms Death of Ex-President Yanukovych's Son
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Crimean authorities know nothing about an alleged funeral for former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych’s son in Crimea, reports of which appeared earlier, the head of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov said Tuesday.

“We have only heard about it from the media. Crimean authorities have done nothing, nobody addressed us [regarding the funeral]," Aksyonov said during a press conference at the International Information Agency Rossiya Segodnya.

Earlier, Ukrainian media reported that Viktor Yanukovych's son, who allegedly died in Russia, was buried in Crimea on Monday. According to various media reports, Yanukovych’s 33-year-old son had fallen through the ice on a minibus during a sports event on Lake Baikal in Siberia.

The Kremlin said it can neither confirm, nor deny reports of ex-Ukrainian president's son's death on Siberia's lake.

On Monday, the Ukrainian Party of Regions, previously headed by Ukraine's ousted president Viktor Yanukovych, confirmed the death of the former leader’s son.
